Are you reading this on the quiet at work? Daydreaming about your holiday and sunny skies? We’ve got the six beaches to visit this year – perfect to make a quick decision and get your boss off your back!
We think beaches are very personal things, maybe you want to top up your tan, maybe you want to bring the kids for an all activity adventure, or maybe you’d prefer something a little more secluded for the chance of romance. But how do you decide? We’ve got these PurpleTips for you.
Greece is of course famous for its fantastic weather, friendly locals and scrumptious food, not to mention the glorious beaches. We’ve been to plenty and we still think some of the best ones are in Zante. If you’re feeling a little romantic the secluded coves and beautiful turquoise waters will certainly get you in the mood.
Maldives is the place to go to discover those absolutely crystal clear waters that you didn’t know were possible. The whole group of islands sits in the warm waters of the Indian Ocean, about 6 feet above sea level. Cocoa Island has its own dive centre giving you the chance to get up close and personal with turtles and reefs during an amazing holiday.
Aruba is, of course, famous for its stunning beaches. Walk barefoot along the long stretches of white sandy beaches or take a dip in the tropical crystal clear waters before relaxing and watching the sunset from your sun lounger. We recommend Palm Beach for the ultimate sun holiday.
Dubai might be known as a shopper’s paradise, but with temperatures hitting around 40 degrees at the height of summer, you’ll definitely need a trip to the beach to cool down. Jumeirah Beach Park is one of our faves. Not only can you take a dip in the crystal waters and keep cool, the mix of beach and park makes it a perfect idea for family friendly picnics and keeping the kids happy.
We reckon the best way to experience Croatia’s insanely beautiful beaches is to start with the islands. Hvar boasts some stunning beaches. Although there are plenty of rocky beaches that the country’s famous for, Mlaska’s got a stretch of golden sand, dipping into shallow, transparent waters that make it ideal for families.
Turkey has more beaches than you can shake a stick at and we couldn’t decide on just one in Kusadasi. All of them have the crystal clear waters and stunning sloping sandy shorelines Turkey is famous for and we haven’t even mentioned the weather yet. Choose to linger by a beach bar with a cocktail in hand on Downtown beach, or maybe you prefer the romantic atmosphere of Love Beach, whatever you’re looking for, Kusadasi has a beach for you.
